Freaky Friday

Lots of people are avoiding the news lately so I’m sharing some silly stuff first for a change of pace:
·         Samuel L. Jackson reading a bedtime story for grownups
·         Ryan Reynolds surprising Mint Mobile customers
·         John Krasinski sharing Some Good News
·         Home school truth during quarantine
·         Easter pay per view
·         Southern mommas
·         100 coronavirus memes
·         Mix of videos, memes and threads
·         Quarantine jokes
·         Crisis humor explained

Last supper via Zoom video conference

Now back to our regular pandemic programming....

The world marked two grim milestones as the global total of confirmed COVID-19 cases surpassed 1 million and the worldwide death toll from the disease topped 50,000. The US recorded the highest daily death toll of any country since the pandemic began. Meanwhile, Spain's death toll has risen to 10,935 with health ministry figures confirming a consistent downward trend in the rate of new cases and fatalities.  Aljazeera.com timeline

In the news…

Following Kenny Beck’s lead to share a few signs of hope:

·         College student made masks for deaf and hard of hearing.

·         104 year old veteran recovered from coronavirus in time to celebrate birthday.

In my personal life…

BC – before coronavirus – The Daily Show and Late Night with Steven Colbert were DVR staples. They still are though I’ve begun watching some of the other late night shows live if/when I’m awake working on the blog. Jimmy Fallon is adorable! Jimmy Kimmel, Conan O’Brien, and Seth Myers also are solidly entertaining. Years ago I watched a James Corden monologue that came off snarky and condescending so I’m not a fan, though his shows lately have been better. As much as I adore and respect Samantha Bee, I stopped watching her show after 2016 election shock turned into depression. Feeling better lately so I’m going to look for Full Frontal episodes on demand this weekend.

  1. Have you watched, Kathy Griffin: A Hell of a Story, on Prime? A comedy and not a comedy, but an eye opener.
